NYS Senate Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery to Meet at New York City Hall

(Long Island, N.Y.) The New York State Senate Bipartisan Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery will meet at City Hall tomorrow Thursday, January 31, 2013, with government leaders and representatives from businesses and not-for-profit organizations to discuss storm damage and recovery efforts in Staten Island and Brooklyn.

Senators and local leaders scheduled to attend the round table include:

  • Senator Diane Savino (D-Staten Island/Brooklyn)
  • Senator Lee Zeldin (R,C,I-Shirley)

  • New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky and Senior Advisor Marty Schwartzman

The Senate task force was formed to help develop short- and long-term plans to address challenges facing communities in the wake of the damage from the devastating storm. This is the fourth meeting of the task force.

The first meeting was held in Rockaway, Queens, in December. Tours and meetings also took place in and around Freeport, Nassau County, and Nanuet, Rockland County. The meeting is set to take place Thursday, January 31, 2013 with media availability at 2 p.m. and a Round-table meeting at 2:30 p.m. at New York City Hall, 250 Broadway, New York, NY 10007. Task Force media availability will take place on the City Hall Steps with the Round-table meeting in the Senate Majority Coalition’s 19th Floor Office.
