NARAL Pro-Choice NY Endorses Cronin for State Senate
(East Meadow, NY) On Monday, October 22nd, Andrea Miller, President of NARAL Pro-Choice NY spoke at Ryan Cronin’s campaign headquarters to announce their endorsement of his candidacy for New York’s 6th Senate District. Andrea Miller and Ryan Cronin took turns addressing a crowd of women supporting his campaign. Miller spoke in support of women’s reproductive health rights and affirm her support for Ryan as a true advocate for women’s health rights.
Ryan Cronin is running against Senator Kemp Hannon, an anti-choice Republican who has a long track record of voting against a woman’s right to choose. In contrast, Ryan Cronin is committed to standing up for women and advancing access to medical care, including reproductive health services.
Cronin supports the Reproductive Health Act – a bill that would update New York’s abortion laws to ensure that a woman can make personal, private health care decisions, especially if her health is in danger. Last week, Cronin and Hannon debated the importance of passing New York’s Reproductive Health Act and Cronin threw his complete support behind passing the bill stating that it would be a legislation priority of his. Hannon downplayed the bills importance by calling a women’s right to choose in New York a “settled matter.”
“We are proud to endorse Ryan Cronin for State Senate. Ryan recognizes the critical importance of a woman’s right and ability to access basic health care, including contraception and abortion. He understands this is not only important to a woman’s health, it is a core pocketbook issue in tough economic times, affects her family’s well-being, and is key to ensuring women are equal players in our society. That’s why he supports the Reproductive Health Act, a critical bill that will protect New York women no matters what happens on the federal level,” said Andrea Miller, President of NARAL Pro-Choice NY.
