(Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley), in partnership with Island Harvest, has teamed up with other local elected officials and community groups for an island-wide 2011 Holiday Food Drive competition to help those less fortunate this winter. The competition will run until December 30.
Senator Zeldin’s District Office, located at 4155 Veterans Memorial Highway, Suite 5, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779, will operate as a drop off location for any donations. Senator Zeldin is asking for donations of canned goods and non-perishable items such as canned beans, milk, fruits, vegetables, juices, meats, fish, soups, stews, and peanut butter that will go to help needy families on Long Island.
“I am pleased to be joining Island Harvest and my legislative colleagues to help ensure that those less fortunate among us do not go hungry this holiday season,” said Senator Zeldin.
Look for announcements on collection events and drop off locations in the coming days from your local representatives or contact Senator Zeldin’s office at (631) 585-0608 for more information.
