(Medford, N.Y.) - Medford Multicare’s respiratory therapists were recently recognized, for the second year in a row, by The American Association for Respiratory Care’s (AARC) Quality Respiratory Care Recognition program. “We appreciate AARC’s recognition of our commitment to providing our residents with the highest quality of respiratory care services. The dedication, professionalism and competence demonstrated by our respiratory therapists, combined with that of our nursing staff, is a key reason for our excellent reputation and outstanding performance in this highly-specialized clinical area of care,” said David Fielding, Medford’s Administrator.

The AARC started the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their health care. Organizations that meet the QRCR requirements have proven they can adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services such as extensive training programs and Respiratory Therapists who are available 24 hours a day. Medford’s award demonstrates their commitment to providing the highest quality respiratory care services consistent with national standards and guidelines.

You’ve gotta be kiddin’. Our experience with them was AWFUL. A few weeks after my mother, Patricia Rigney, had a respiratory event which almost killed her - the only reason she didn’t die was that my Dad happened to walk in and noticed she wasn’t breathing well and was turning completely blue - they removed her respiratory monitor from her room. The reason they tried to give us - was that it was inconveniencing the respiratory therapists. We almost had to bring in the press and call the police on them.
