Long Island Elite Gives Back To Charities In A Big Way

(Bethpage, N.Y.) – Long Island Elite (LIE), an organization dedicated to promoting the growth and development of Long Island’s young business executives, recently raised much needed funds for several Long Island not-for-profit organizations at its seventh annual ‘Wonderland-Themed’ Charity Masquerade Ball held at the Oheka Castle in Cold Spring Hills, NY.
The imaginative evening featured actors from Chez’-zam theatrical group portraying characters from Disney’s “Alice In Wonderland”. Guests disguised themselves in elaborate costumes posing as Mad Hatter, Tweedledee, Tweedledum, Caterpillar and more, and Peanutbutter, Inc. airbrushed illustrious designs on guests to enhance the theme. Most importantly, LIE achieved its goal of raising awareness and support for the following organizations:
- ACLD (Adults and Children with Learning Developmental Disabilities)
- Best Buddies New York
- Canine Companions
- Contractors For Kids
- EAC
- Friends of Karen
- Family Service League
- Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of LI
- Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro NY
Honoree and “Mentor of the Year” was. Monique Zorn of Zorn’s. Ms. Zorn is third generation family of Zorn’s and was recognized for her outstanding contributions to both the business and Long Island communities. James A. Johnston, Director of Real Estate for King Kullen Grocery Co., Inc. was recognized as “Contemporary Award Winner” and The Amerisc Corp. was the distinguished award winner of “Company of the Year”. Gary Cucchi, Vice President of Progressive Marketing Group, Inc., was selected by his LIE peers and colleagues as “LIE Member of the Year”.
LIE Founder and President Dawn Strain commented on the event, “Our mission is to take a leadership role and raise awareness for non-profit organizations and their causes. Due to the generosity of our sponsors, LIE members and giving individuals, these Long Island charities will receive the recognition and funds they so deserve.”
