(Long Island, N.Y.)-Looking for information on avoiding foreclosure, finding a mental health counseling service or disaster assistance? Senator Kemp Hannon is alerting all Long Islanders that you can obtain the important health and human service information you are seeking, for FREE.

It’s called 2-1-1 Long Island, a free, non-emergency health and human service telephone and Internet service for the Long Island region. Whether it’s a daily inquiry or during a disaster, 2-1-1 is your free life line to health and human service help.

“I commend United Way of Long Island and Middle Country Public Library for partnering to create this important public service,” said Senator Hannon. “Everyone should be educated about 2-1-1 and the valuable information that is available to Long Islanders through this hotline,” Hannon continued.

2-1-1 is a multi-lingual help line referral system. The 2-1-1 Call Center operates from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week, and can be reached by calling 2-1-1 or 1-888-774-7633.  For more information, visit www.211longisland.org.  For a list of upcoming events in your community and important New York State information, visit www.kemphannon.com .
