Dentists At Exceldent Dental, LLC Weather The Snow Storm To Provide Unemployed Long Islanders With A Day Of Free Dental Care

(Brookhaven,N.Y.)-Dentists at Exceldent Dental LLC, Long Island’s leading dental provider with eight locations, have given new meaning to the phrase, “when there’s a will there’s a way.” The recent snowstorm that wreaked havoc on the Long Island area did not prevent dentists at Exceldent Dental, LLC’s newest office, Exceldent Dental of Brookhaven, from fulfilling their mission in going forward with their planned day of free dental services for unemployed Long Islanders.
“We made a promise to those unemployed that we would bring them day of dental services, free of charge, and that was a commitment we weren’t going to break,” says Dr. Stephen Candell, CEO of Exceldent Dental. He further explains, “This one-day event was organized because we felt there was a need to offer dental care to unemployed individuals who might otherwise be without due to of lack of funds and insurance. However, we became even more aware of this need after seeing so many people calling in for appointments, which is why there was simply no way we could disappoint, regardless of what Mother Nature had in store for us that day.”
Despite the terrible weather, more than 40 unemployed individuals trekked through the snow to take advantage of Exceldent Dental, LLC’s free services, which included x-rays, examinations, cleanings and oral cancer screenings. Karl Kirschner of East Setauket, who was without dental care for over a year, received complimentary x-rays and a cleaning. “It is great to see a Long Island businesses stepping up to the plate to do something for the betterment of others,” says Kirschner. “I can only hope that more businesses follow Exceldent’s lead.”
While Kirschner was moved by Exceldent’s community outreach, he was also very impressed by Exceldent’s quality service. “I’ve been to dental offices in the past where patients are kept waiting because of overbooked appointments; but with Exceldent, everything was done timely and efficiently. In fact, I am so happy about the service I received that I plan on coming back to Exceldent in six months for another exam.”
