(New York,N.Y.)-Senate Republicans agree with the consensus revenue projection that there will be $850 million less in available revenues than forecast in the Executive Budget.  

However, the deficit could be even greater if revenues that were built into the Executive Budget, particularly revenue tied to the development of Aqueduct race track and the transfer of funds from Battery Park City, do not materialize.

New York would not be in such dire fiscal straits if Democrats had not gone on a massive, unsustainable, $13 billion spending binge last year, ignoring existing deficits and a reeling economy.
 
New York State does not have a revenue problem it has a spending problem, which is why we must get cut spending now and cap it going forward.
