(New York,N.Y.)-Senator  Kenneth P. LaValle has launched an on-line petition allowing New  Yorkers  to support his effort to get the 9/11 terror trials moved out of  New  York.   The  Senator  is  urging residents to sign his petition at lavalle.nysenate.gov.

Senator  LaValle  is  supporting  a  New York State Senate Resolution opposing  the  Obama  Administration’s  decision to conduct the 9/11 terror trial  in  a  New York City federal civilian court.  The Senator also wants the  enemy terrorists to be tried by a military commission tribunal, as has been practice in the United States since the birth of our nation.

The Obama Administration is wrong in making this change in policy and has  offered no explanation to justify placing the public at risk.  This is an insult to every American.  The idea that these trials would be held just blocks  from  where  the tragedy  occurred is an outrage and shows blatant disregard  for  the  people  of  New  York.   In  addition, it would have a staggering  economic  impact  on  businesses and cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

Senator  LaValle  is urging all New Yorkers to make their voice heard by joining his on-line petition.  It is an outrage that terrorists would be given  the  same  protections  as  U.S.  citizens.   The President and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder need to reverse this decision without delay.
