Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk Announces Volunteers of the Year

09_friends_group_shot.jpg(Smithtown,N.Y.)-Habitat Volunteers Honored…Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk recently held its annual Friends Reception at the Watermill in Smithtown.  Volunteers from across the county and from many industries were recognized as the most valuable groups and volunteers throughout the years.

Community Partner was won by Val Biscardi, Commissioner, Town of Brookhaven Dept. of Housing, Community Development and Intergovernmental Affairs. Campus Chapter of the Year was won by Syosset High School. Faith Partner of the Year was awarded to Greater Hamptons Interfaith Council.

Volunteers of the Year were Arnold Steuer of Mount Sinai for his work at Habitat’s ReStore and Jeff Klepper of Oakdale for his work at Bay Shore based, Duralee Fabrics, Family Services Committees that raise funds for Habitat.

Business Partner of the year is Appliance World of Huntington, and Special Career Service Award for the first time was awarded to Lee Hotaling, Bayport.
