VHB Names M. Paul Campagnola Director of Transportation

campagnola.jpg(Hauppauge, N.Y.) VHB Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture, P.C. today announced that M. Paul Campagnola has been promoted to Director of Transportation. In his new role he will be responsible for overseeing a variety of transportation and development projects, relying on his vast public works knowledge amassed over a highly successful career in the public sector.
 
Prior to joining VHB in March 2008, Mr. Campagnola was Director of Highway Planning and Permits for the Suffolk County Department of Public Works. During his 29 years in the county, he built an excellent reputation among federal, state, town and village agencies, as well as private enterprises. His experience has included planning, directing, and reviewing highway construction projects and the subsequent compliance with all federal and state regulations.
 
At VHB, Mr. Campagnola has worked on a number of significant regional projects including the Safe Route to Schools in the Uniondale School District, a federally funded project to develop pedestrian facilities, traffic calming devices and driver awareness initiatives for students. He is also involved in evaluating a conceptual plan to develop a traffic roundabout at an entrance to the Links golf course in North Hills, New York and is the project manager responsible for traffic engineering services at The Shops at Riverhead, a proposed retail development on Route 58 in Riverhead, New York.

Mr. Campagnola, a resident of Wading River, New York, received his AAS in Construction Technology from the State University of New York, Farmingdale in 1968 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology in 1971. He is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Society of Highway Engineers.
