(Long Island, N.Y.) On a cold afternoon in February of this year, a barmaid working in a Mt. Sinai bar was brutally beaten, and savagely sexually assaulted.  In an effort to help create awareness against violence to all woman and to offset her medical and personal expenses during her long recovery, a benefit is being held on Sunday April 26.

The 1st Humanitarian Benefit Bike Ride for “Boots” starts off at two locations in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  Beginning at 1PM, bikers and their riders assembled at Jugs & Strokers in Merrick and Maples in Manorville will get their kick stands up, start their engines, and take off to their final destination of Secrets Lounge located at 164 Nesconset Highway in Mt. Sinai.

Upon arrival at 1:30 PM, the bikers will be met by residents of our communities as they are invited to spend an afternoon of live entertainment, prize raffles, a 50/50 raffle and complimentary food.

During this gathering, Kenny “Wolfman” Maxx will provide his skills on acoustic guitar. And to bring the gathering to their feet, Long Island’s most popular rock and blues group, the Kerry Kearney Band, have graciously donated their time, and will bring their high energy sounds to make this day a memorable event.

A donation for riders and all walk-in is $20 per person and $5 for passengers on bikes.  Pre-registration can be made at Secrets Lounge prior to the event.

Any individuals wishing to make a donation or offer items to be raffled can be made at Secrets Lounge or by calling 631-834-2486.

This viscous attack should not happen to anyone.  The victim is someone’s daughter.  She could be your sister, wife, girlfriend, cousin, acquaintance, or immediate friend.  Even someone you know from afar.  It could happen to you..  Violence against women will not be tolerated, and we ask for your support for “Boots” and to create awareness to all victims of sexual violence.

All proceeds of this event will go to the victim of this senseless and horrific crime.

For further information regarding this event and how you can volunteer, contribute, or donate, please contact Kim Hernandez at 631-834-2486.
