April 3, 2009
(Little Neck, N.Y.) Leviton is pleased to announce the appointment of Enmanuel Hwong to the newly-created position of Business Development Specialist for the Caribbean market. In his new post, Hwong oversees the development of new business opportunities and focuses his efforts on expanding the sale of the company’s extensive product offering throughout the Caribbean marketplace.
Hwong joined Leviton in 2004 as a Specification Engineer heading up technical sales. He also spearheaded market research and training initiatives targeting the engineering and architectural communities. In this role, Hwong worked with distributors, contactors and end-user customers to design and implement structured wiring and lighting control solutions, and played an instrumental role in building specification channels for product offerings to the Dominican Republic’s fast-growing hotel construction market.
Hwong brings a formidable background in specification sales and business development to his new position. Prior to joining Leviton, he worked as an energy control engineer for Edesur, a provider of energy management solutions, and as a new technology specialist for Verizon’s mobile technology development area, where he evaluated products and services and coordinated projects with the company’s engineering and marketing teams.
“We are pleased to have a professional of Enmanuel’s background join our International Business Development team to direct our channel and distribution efforts throughout the Caribbean,” said Bruno Filio, Vice President of International Business Development.
Hwong holds an electrical engineering degree from Santo Domingo Institute of Technology and has received numerous certifications in telecommunications, LANS, ISDN, and ADSL. He lives with his wife and family in Santo Domingo.
