Future Tech Sponsors Community Program for Underprivileged Children

(Holbrook, N.Y.) In its football season this fall, Future Tech Enterprise became a sponsor of Little Mustangs, Big Hearts, a community program developed by the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Athletic Department designed to encourage underprivileged children to pursue a college education through athletics.

Most of the children who participate in this event come from underprivileged homes and who may not have aspirations to pursue a college education. The purpose of Little Mustangs, Big Hearts is to allow these children to experience a college campus and to expand dreams of what they can achieve.

“For many of the children, it was the first time they had seen a college campus and football game,” said Chris Coker, graduate of SMU and Vice President Major Accounts at Future Tech. “The experience opened their eyes to a new world of opportunity and excited the children about what they too now strive to accomplish.”

A total of 1,400 children were brought to tour the SMU campus and attend a college football game this season, 200 of which were sponsored by Future Tech. Future Tech’s donation paid for food, transportation, chaperones, a tour of the SMU campus, and a ticket to see a college football game for each child.
