Long Island Sports Expo to Feature Basketball Fundamentals Demonstration

August 14, 2008

(Long Island, N.Y.) West Babylon’s Brian Huber, founder and head basketball trainer of Fundamental Sports Training, Inc., will demonstrate basketball fundamentals and offer free mini-lessons during the first annual Long Island Sports Expo. The Expo, for which admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students, takes place Saturday-Sunday, September 6-7, 2008, at the Suffolk County Community College Sports & Exhibition Complex in Brentwood .

Huber, a former Division III point guard at Hartwick College and all-Long Island player at Kellenberg Memorial High School , has been playing, teaching, and learning the sport of basketball for most of his life.  He will cover multiple skill sets and innovative drills, as well as breakdown proper techniques that often go overlooked.  His demonstrations and mini-clinics during the Long Island Sports Expo will touch on ball-handling, shooting, footwork, advanced offensive moves, and anything else you throw at him.

Targeted toward all sports and fitness enthusiasts, high school, college and youth athletes, coaches, athletic directors and parents, the Long Island Sports Expo also will feature many exhibitors showcasing products and services, along with a wide array of seminars and hands-on demonstrations focusing on performance training and various sport-specific skills.

Fitness personality and video star John Basedow will discuss “Fitness Made Simple,” while sport psychologist Dr. Tom Ferraro will explore “Pre-Game Jitters.”  Other 30-45-minute seminars will focus on sports performance training and conditioning, weight training, athletic injuries and rehabilitation, preventing burnout, mental preparation for athletic events, and coaching techniques. Also scheduled are amateur boxing and kick-boxing competitions and a putting contest.  In addition, Long Island ’s Ultimate Athlete Magazine, a high school sports magazine published 10 times a year, will host a cyber-lounge filled with large-screen TV monitors with sports- and athletics-related video games.

I found out that someone in the organization for the sports expo runs a prostitution ring, this expo is not something us Long Islanders should support. It’s disgusting that this still goes on. This is probably a way for these guys to cover up there side job. I will investigate more into this and reveal the names of the organizers of this event, anybody who supports prostitution is scum and probably does’nt have any children.

Hello I am Ramya Ramana, I am an 8th grade student at Murphy Junior High school. I found this website through google. I am extremely into basketball, I am a serious and aggresive player. When i grow up I will become a WNBA player and before that I would like to get a lead, so I have a better chance of getting into the WNBA. If this website could somehow get into touch with someone so that I could be reccomended for the WNBA, I would appreciate it very much. Also, if you find any teams that are open for me to join then please inform me about it. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you fro your time, have a nice day! Goodbye=]
