ron-paul-baby.jpg(Long Island, N.Y.) My wife and I are looking forward to another addition to our family this Spring, and of course, it’s time to think about names again. We’ve done the book thing. We’ve gone through family members, in our traditional phase. Now, we’re in that funk. Every time we think of a name, there’s a reason against it. This one had an ex with that name.  That one knew someone by that name who was a pervert. No, the kids in class would have a field day with that name. Are you kidding? That’s an old person’s name! So where will we turn our eyes for a new name? Well, we will turn our eyes to the grandest source of names I’ve ever found.

A man named Ron Paul is running for President in 2008. He’s a ten-term Congressman, an obstetrician, a Vietnam veteran and a constitutionist who claims that it’s not he who has garnered recent and growing support from Americans but rather his message. On January 21, 2008, which is Martin Luther King Day, Ron Paul supporters will hold a third “money bomb” day. This is a day on which people from coast to coast and beyond are asked to send a modest contribution to his presidential campaign. On any given day, the names of contributors are displayed steadily on the main page of Congressman Paul’s campaign website, www.RonPaul2008.com. However, on a money bomb day, there are literally thousands of names that flash onscreen, whether it’s 12:00 a.m or 11:59 p.m.. Truly, it’s incredible. The last money bomb took place on December 16, 2007, and $6 million dollars was raised, with 58,407 Americans donating an average of $102 dollars each. With so many Americans donating, it is plain to see why his website is the ideal source for names.

If I were looking for a name for a baby (and I am), I certainly would be clicking onto Ron Paul’s website on January 21st. Of course, while you are reviewing names, you might want to click here or there on the website to find out if your new, little bundle of joy will benefit by growing up with a man such as Ron Paul as his or her President. After all, the way things are going, we may be fighting this current war for at least another 18 years - that is, if the United States Government keeps borrowing out of our pockets to pay for it. Remember, this election is all about your baby’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, or perhaps the historic loss of those rights. You may want to check out some of the other candidates’ websites as well.
