Ron Paul Confirmed Excluded from Fox News Forum
December 30, 2007
(Long Island, N.Y.) The New Hampshire Republican Party is sponsoring a forum for Republican presidential candidates on Jan. 6, two days before the state’s first-in-the-nation primary. According to a press release from the Ron Paul presidential campaign, the Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul was either excluded and/or not invited to the upcoming forum.
Republican candidates will be questioned by Fox New Channel’s Chris Wallace, and will be held a day after ABC holds back to back Democratic and Republican presidential debates. The candidates will face questions from Wallace around a table in a studio on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H.. The 90-minute forum will air live beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio.
According to Powell Gammill, the Senior Editor of Freedom’s Phoenix, “I can confirm through Republican sources that indeed Ron Paul was not invited to this debate.” Angry Paul supporters have been targeting the New Hampshire GOP and its Chairman Fergus Cullen “crashing their servers” and “melting their phone lines” with inquiries as to why no invite was extended to Paul. Gammill simply states “It’s Not Their [New Hampshire GOP] Doing”.
“Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder in a press release. “Dr. Paul has consistently polled higher in New Hampshire than some of the other candidates who have been invited.”
As of this writing, a live campaign fundraising meter on the Ron Paul web site reveals that the campaign has received more than $18.9 million in contributions this quarter, over $7 million more than Giuliani. With numbers like these, it really makes you wonder how in the world a candidate could be excluded from such an important event. Participating in the forum will be Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson.
Ron Paul said “They are scared of me and don’t want my message to get out, but it will,” Paul said in an interview. “They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative.” “They will not win this skirmish,” he promised.
“Paul supporters should know that we are continuing to make inquiries with Fox News as to why they have apparently excluded Dr. Paul from this event.” said Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder.
According to Ron Paul Communications Manager Jesse Benton they haven’t yet heard directly from Fox that Paul is excluded; and if so, why that happened. “We’ve called Fox six times and have not had our calls returned,” he said.
Fox News, whose slogan is “We Report, You Decide,” has not publicly commented on the exclusion as of yet.

Got something to say?

I saw what happened when Iowa officials tried to shut Ron Paul out of the Iowa Tax Forum several months ago. He threw his own rally and nearly doubled the size of the tax forum which included a number of top candidates. I suspect that when Ron Paul says that Fox will not win this skirmish, he means it.

Excellent piece. Fox decided to exlude the Paul who has raised more than any other Republican candidate and polls similiar to at least one of those invited. Ironic considering Fox’s slogan “We report, you decide”. I hope this is will illustrate to everyone that Fox News can’t be considered ‘fair and balanced’… Even CNN is more fair and balanced! Wake up people, everyone, Paul supporter or not, should see this as an afront to what Americans expect from their media!

I believe Paul should be allowed to debate, if anyone should be excluded it should be Rudy or Fred they’re not polling very well in either Iowa or N.H.
Personally I believe Romney is the best candidate, however, Paul has some very interesting arguments with regards to our economic situation and I believe we’d be better off hearing and learning about his economic discussion points. CSPAN showed Paul discussing his economic views and it was very educational….very good.

It only confirms what I have suspected for quite a while. Dr. Paul is a threat to the elite money and globalization agenda. Those who head up the major new networks are shills for globalization. Ron Paul doesn’t need Fox News and neither do I. Bye bye now Fox News.

What I really would like to know is how come McCain, who has to ask for federal money to continue running and Romney, whose campaign is running mostly on his own money, and Guliani who’s never won a single straw poll are first tiers, and Ron Paul, who collected $4.3 and $6.1 mil in one day and has $18M at his disposal is not?

I dont care who you support in this election, the bottom line is that you cant let Rupert Murdoch and Fox News try and control one of the most important events in this country. Contact them and their sponsors, sell any News Corp (NWS) stock you own, and sell any mutual funds that you own that hold their stock, the only things these companies understand is a direct hit to their stock price or advertising revenues.

Unbelievable!
And they say they are fair and balanced.

The more the establishment tries to put Ron Paul down, the more I am sure he is the right candidate.

People better rise up against this. You don’t have to like Paul to realise this guy is getting the shaft. This is censorship.
It may be your candidate next time!

FOX and Murdoch don’t want his message of freedom and liberty to get out. The message is a thorn in the side of their rich banker and wall street friends.

To Whom it may Concern,
I am writing to express my disappointment and displeasure upon discovering Dr. Ron Paul will be excluded from the New Hampshire Debates. Dr. Paul has placed #1 among Republicans AND Democrats at AOL’s spam-proof poll. Dr. Paul LEADS ALL Republican candidates in fund raising this quarter. Dr. Paul is tied for third place in IOWA. Dr. Paul’s support is known to be great among Independents, former Republicans and Democrats. Surely these people deserve to have their candidate heard! Dr. Paul Is the MOST searched for candidate on the internet. The exclusion of Dr. Paul from these debates would be for me the final convincing piece of evidence that we the American citizens are no longer in control of our destiny. Once the process to file FEDERAL complaints via the FCC is automated, you may expect a flood of letters to your affiliate stations stating FOX affiliates are NOT acting in the public interest.
